Stepped profiles rise in short flights across the Step Relief 3D concrete wall tile, each 50 × 100 mm piece describing a small stair. The 20 mm relief turns a backsplash into a gently terraced surface that changes with the angle of the light. It is also one of the lightest modules in the range. Each one sits on a flat base, so the pieces align quickly during fitting.
Design & Applications
A stepped surface reads as calm and ordered, which suits backsplashes, kitchen islands and bathroom walls that need texture without noise. The small format also lets it turn around corners and into niches with little waste. Where a looser block pattern is preferred nearby, the Offset Blocks 3D wall tile shares the same scale. What size are Step Relief tiles and how many do I need per square metre?
Each tile in the Step Relief 3D Cement Wall Tile range measures 50 × 100 mm and stands 20 mm proud of the wall. Coverage is 200 pcs/m², so a 10 m² feature wall needs about 2000 tiles. Allow an extra 8–10% for cuts at corners, openings and the end of each run.
How heavy is Step Relief once it is on the wall?
One Step Relief tile weighs 0.14 kg and a finished square metre weighs 28 kg. At this weight the wall has to be sound and mechanically fixed — on stud partitions add bracing or a tile backer board before fixing, and check the substrate before ordering.
Can Step Relief be used outdoors, in a bathroom or on a shower wall?
The Step Relief 3D Cement Wall Tile is made from Reinforced Fine Composite Concrete (UHPC) and is rated for both interior and exterior walls. In bathrooms and other wet areas, tank the substrate and seal the joints behind the tile, and keep direct shower spray off the relief. For exposed facades, tell us the project location when you enquire so the fixing, sealing and freeze–thaw detail can be specified for that climate.
What colours does Step Relief come in, and can I order a sample first?
The Step Relief 3D Cement Wall Tile is produced in 24 standard colours: 60T WHITE, 10C BEIGE, 5C GREY, 10C GREY, 30C GREY, 10T GREEN, 30C BEIGE, 30C BLUE, 10G PINK, 5G BRICK, ELEPHANT EAR, CAMEL, LOESS, REDDENED EARTH, MT-SILVER, MT-GOLD, MT-BROWN, MT-COFFEE, MT-BLACK, MT-GREEN, MT-FRUIT-GREEN, MT-WATER-BLUE, MT-D-BLUE and MT-WINE-RED. The same tone reads lighter or deeper depending on how the light rakes across the relief, so order a sample tile before committing to a full wall; samples ship from stock and can be ordered one colour at a time. Yes. How is Step Relief installed, and how do I keep the pattern aligned?
Fix with a cement-based tile adhesive on a flat, primed substrate and press each tile firmly into the combed bed. Because the relief is 20 mm deep, set out a dry run first: the pattern only reads correctly when the modules line up, so work from a datum line and check level every few rows. Cut edges with a diamond blade.
